- My inspiration for teaching this class comes from F. DeWitt Platt a phenomenal professor of Humanities from Michigan State University. In the 1980's while I was pursuing my Bachelor's degree, I had the honor of taking a class entitled "Vietnam Through Film". It was that class that the idea film could be be used as a text to better understand culture and history was originally conceived. This class is dedicated to Dr. Platt and the idea he implanted so many years ago.
